The zoo is now in the winter season
Have you ever seen a tiger in the snow? Although it is winter season at the zoo, there are lots of creatures that don’t mind the cold. All of the houses and outdoor exhibits in the normal part of the zoo are open, even the giraffe, zebra and rhino enclosures.

The Rarest Rhinos Travel Back to Africa

Four of the world's last known remaining eight northern white rhinos will be relocated from captivity back to the wild on Sunday 20th December 2009, thanks to the collaborative efforts of a consortium of conservation organisations.
Rare species bred: secretary bird

We can announce the first breeding success in the case of secretary birds within the Czech Republic. In addition, the two young 'serpent eaters' present the only two young within European collections this year.
New Persian leopard cubs

Deina, the Persian leopard female, has put a smile on all of our zookeepers by delivering three healthy and beautiful cubs on the morning of 24 February. There was some concern over the mother as she had experienced some health problems last year. Although she seemed to be okay during her pregnancy, no one was sure if everything would go well. However, the cubs were born between 6 and 8.15 a.m., with their trouble-free birth being monitored via CCTV.
